December Birthdays

This is the first year that we actually celebrated Alice's birthday on her birthday. We usually like to do it earlier in the month so it separates it from Christmas a little more and so we can celebrate it with Curtis's birthday. His is the 5th and hers is the 22nd. This year was different because we knew Nikki was coming home in time for Alice's birthday and for Christmas, so we decided to wait until she was home. We also had really busy weekends the rest of the month anyway.  Once again, Alice requested donuts. Except, this time she asked for mini cinnamon donuts, which were the same kind she shared with her class when they celebrated December birthdays before the break. That made it super easy for me. Thank you Alice! She also just wanted vanilla and chocolate ice cream. She said chocolate because she knew Garrett likes chocolate. Such a sweet girl to think of her brother.

I was glad to have an excuse to use the cupcake holder again.

Curtis got the stack on the plate with one candle. Alice got the big one. Curtis doesn't like to celebrate his birthday anymore so we do it with Alice. He doesn't like the attention.

I loved the look of surprise when she opened Grandma Vernie and Grandpa Tony's gift of a Barbie doll. They weren't able to come to the party but they picked the right gift because she loved it.

She also received a coloring book from them.

She received a mini unicorn backpack that she really wanted from mom and dad.

Nikki gave her a toy slug. It's a fidgety toy.

She got a blow up cat tent that fills with the air from a fan. The girls both love it and it's a lot bigger than we thought.

I got Curtis a new flannel shirt.

And he said he needed a new wallet.

In her tent with her goodies. Cat pants, Barbie doll, slug toy, coloring book, bunny slippers, terrarium, and of course, the tent and fan.

Grandma and Grandpa Butterfield came late to the party and gave her some ponies.

The tent fills up their room!

Alice was so excited for her birthday and so was Charlotte. Charlotte even asked in the morning if I could just take a video of Alice opening all her gifts and Curtis could watch them later. Funny girl! I had also debated on whether to try throwing a friends party for her or not since we are moving. We did not end up having time to do one and Jack was sick anyway so we didn't. I'm actually glad we didn't. There were just so many other things going on. Alice was just as happy to have just only a family birthday party. My baby is now 6 years old and growing up so fast. She's such a sweet girl and always thinks of others and likes to help.  Happy birthday Alice and Curtis!
