Zoo Boise with my Girls

I took my 3 girls to the zoo the Thursday after our trip, which was the 17th. The boys didn't want to go but Charlotte and Alice hadn't been to the zoo ever before so I decided if we were going to do it this summer we better do it before it gets too hot. I also decided we would go in the morning, which was a good move. There was hardly anybody there and the weather was nice. It also happened that Thursdays are discounted for family days so we went on the right day! Nikki and I haven't been to the zoo in years and they have built a new area for some of the animals that are nice. The monkeys and birds have been scattered throughout the zoo by other animals and so it was nice not having to walk through that stinky monkey house anymore. Charlotte really wanted to see the tigers but the only one they had recently passed away. There were still plenty of other fun animals to see though. We all had a great time. We were there for 2 hours and by that time ready to relax and eat our lunch that we had packed. We drove to the park next door to the zoo, Julia Davis Park. The park had lots of goose droppings everywhere so we didn't stay long. It was starting to get hot anyway. It was a fun day though!

The penguins pool was drained and being cleaned out while they were still in there. They were so cute watching them run back and forth.

Looking at the zebras.

A baby crocodile. This is one of the newer buildings.

They still have the giraffe slide!

They had lots of fun statues to climb on.

Charlotte is roaring like a lion.

Feeding the goats. This was the only thing they had to wear a mask for. Nikki didn't want to do it though so she waited for us in the shade.

This is the first time any of us have been in the butterfly exhibit. It was awesome! Nikki had this big blue butterfly land on her shirt.

Charlotte had one on her finger and her hat.

This was the only butterfly I saw like this one. It was smaller than most but so pretty!

Sitting in the nest.

Riding a camel.

Fox ears I think.

Riding the Comodo Dragon

Lunch at the park after the zoo.

It was a great girls day out!
